how long can a AK mag last fully loaded? like if i wanted to keep some loaded mags in the vault how full can they be?

I always “download” magazines that are stored loaded. For example, my 30 round AK mags have 25 rounds in them. 15 round pistol mags have 13. 7 round M1911 mags have 5. Don’t know if it helps, but it makes sense to my simple mind. How long will they last? A quality mag, probably 25 to 30 years.

The spring question comes up often. A good spring supposedly does not take a "set" , what does them in is repeated flex......so they say.

I have also heard an account to WWII era mags, loaded, for 1911's, being fired and functioning just fine, nearly 50 yrs later.

There is one trainer who advises to load up your AK mags..... w/o concern, and use them all as ready storeage.

I usually download a round or twol for LONG storeage. But my duty pistol mags are all up.
