Airsoft for training?

For accuracy, point shooting etc. Anybody do it? Do you think it is an effective training tool? Pro and Cons?

I highly reccomend it.

I use AirSoft - the same model gun that I carry. You can't beat the price of ammo. It is easy to develop bad habits, however, so train mindfully.

It is is useful tool in well planned and supervised FOF training, if that's what you are asking. Unsupervised gun fights are fun but not that useful.

As far as handguns skills training, didn't some Japanese young man who only practiced with airsoft at home, come to US, do some real gun and then win a championship. I forgot the details - duh.

We tried air soft but found that without the recoil factor it was more game than training. We went to co2 and I forget the name but is basic primer powered paint rounds in dedicated pistols that function like the real thing. Oh now I remember "Simunitions" SP? The difference in results in the fun house is something to see.
