Air rifle kink.

I was working on an old Sheridan Blue Streak for a guy, and the bolt needed removed. They have a small 1/8" hex head screw that holds them in, and when I say hex head, it is a male bolt head. I didn't have anything like a nut driver to fit it, as I couldn't find my jewelers screwdrivers that I think had about three in it. It also sits in a square recess in the receiver, and pliers would not grip it easily. The kink or the cure was as follows. I took a hex set screw, about 1" long, and used it as a socket. I then used some vise-grips on the set screw to unscrew the thing, and then reinstall it. The set screw worked just like a socket would have, and fit within the square hole in the receiver. Note, they do make nut drivers this small, I just couldn't locate one at the time.

Anyhow, if you ever run across any small hex head bolts or cap screws like this, use a set screw as a socket in a pinch.
