Air Rifle help needed

OK, it's that time of year to start Christmas shopping.

For several of my friends, I'm planning on getting them the Colt 1911 CO2 pellet gun (by Umerax).

However, one of my buddies is more interested in rifles. I am looking for an air-rifle, either .177 or .22 pellet. Note that it must be capable of firing pellets, as opposed to BBs.

I would prefer a bolt-action CO2 rifle over a side-cocking or barrel-cocking type gun (for a variety of reasons). A bolt-action repeater would be nice, but a single-shot is acceptable.

I might also consider a good semi-auto pellet repeater, but I am not aware of any.

This is mainly for developing skill with a rifle in his backyard, so the range it would be used at would be about 20 - 40 yards.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Go with

the QB78 in .22 cal. Very accurate rifle and inexpensive. It's a single shot bolt action, CO2 rifle.

I second the vote for the QB78 series of rifles. they come in either 177 or 22 the 22 being prefered. the real find is how accurate they are. you can shoot dime sized groups at 10-15 yards all day. thr groups get a bit larger at 25 yards but not much. these are the besdt guns for the money out there. also vs the crosman the qb series has no plastic in its construction, you can not say the same for crosman. buy a qb.
