hey guys I was thinking of buying this for my mossberg 500. But before I did I wanted to know if any of you guys had any experience with it?
It has some pretty good reviews and I like the idea of being able to put on some AR flip up sights

Well, the pic they show is for the 870. Therein lies a problem with mounting the sight arrangement on the receiver, as opposed to the barrel- the barrel is much more subject to movement than the receiver, so if you mounted a scope, it might come out of zero frequently. Mossberg started putting a cantilever rail mounted to the barrel to combat this.

Unless you're going for the "tacti-cool" look (or if you want those flip-up sights), I just bought a little rail that sits on top of the receiver for my old 590, it's already drilled and tapped for it. And it was $17, as opposed to around $115 including shipping. Personally, i'm happy with my ghost rings, and I'm only going to put a flashlight on it, with the SureFire fore grip setup. Neat idea though, I'm sure you can make that gun look like an electronics store if you want

you can buy the Mossberg picatiny rail or buy a cheaper one on ebay
