Well, the pic they show is for the 870. Therein lies a problem with mounting the sight arrangement on the receiver, as opposed to the barrel- the barrel is much more subject to movement than the receiver, so if you mounted a scope, it might come out of zero frequently. Mossberg started putting a cantilever rail mounted to the barrel to combat this.

Unless you're going for the "tacti-cool" look (or if you want those flip-up sights), I just bought a little rail that sits on top of the receiver for my old 590, it's already drilled and tapped for it. And it was $17, as opposed to around $115 including shipping. Personally, i'm happy with my ghost rings, and I'm only going to put a flashlight on it, with the SureFire fore grip setup. Neat idea though, I'm sure you can make that gun look like an electronics store if you want :rolleyes:
