I picked up a used Aimpoint 9000SC 2X for a reasonable price from another person who didn't like the magnification. Well, having Eotechs and an Aimpoint 9000SC (non magnified) on other guns, I also can't stand the magnified version either.
Looking inside, I can see the red objective lens so I assume that the magnifier is just threaded into a regular 9000SC objective opening with an adhesive. I really don't have the desire for the 2X for any application so I would like to see if the magnifier could be removed.
I've tried with minimal effort to unscrew it but it's obviously locked in. Any thoughts?
