Has anyone tried the Accuracy International Chassis System for the Rem M700? Is it worth the money. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Martin

I too would like to know more about this stock. Pricey, but gives the look of a multi thousand dollar AWP. All hype or is it really worth it? Practical to replace stock on my LTR, while still trying to keep it a LIGHT tactical rifle? Any comments on the use of Detachable Mags with this chassis? Don't suppose the AICS DM's have the same problems as Remington's.

here's the website:

Yeah, I like mine. . .

Here are some pics of my rig
My AICS Rig

Specs-
Rem 700 Short Action, blueprinted by George Gardner.
Match chamber.
20" 5R Cooper Barrel 6 flutes.
SSG style bolt knob
Shilen Trigger 2.75 lbs
Badger base and rings
Schmidt Bender 10x42 Police Marksman 2

It likes both the 168 gr and 175 gr Fed GMM. It's a good bench and prone stock but I find it bulky for offhand shooting. The sling attachments rattle like crazy, but a little black silicon goo tightens them up.

The mag system is an improvement over the Remington DM. This one actually works with the full 5 round mags.

for your purpose of a handy rifle, keep the LTR stock. If you do change it, go for the McMillan A2 or A3 style stocks.

Beeeaauutiful rifle you've got there! Thanks for the advice. Think I'll keep the original stock for now, but would like to be able to interchange between stock and the AICS sometime in the future.

BTW, may I ask where specifically did you purchase that SSG style bolt knob?

Thanks!

SSG-style bolt knob

Contact George Gardner at a10xrifle@aol.com
He can install the handle on your bolt for $95 or he can sell you the bolt knob and you can install it yourself.

BTW, if you need to rebarrel your LTR, have George do it for you. He can have your remmy singing the 1/4 MOA tune in no time.
