AI Rifle Review

A good friend of mine, Chuck from Mile High Shooting in Colorado, brought down an Accuracy International AE Mk II rifle chambered in .308 loaded up with a slew of AI accessories for me to review. We put the gun through it's paces and in an unfamiliar environment to discern what makes this gun and package worth the money.

Nothing wrong with giving us our own copy of your review! Only an extra click but we'd feel special if it was on our forum :)

But joking aside, I would love to shoot an AI at some point. I was blessed to shoot a TRG in .308 and a Mark 4 scope.. While I can't compare the TRG to the AI, I would echo your opinion that they are more than a tricked out Remington or Savage. (And I own both Rem and Sav with no complaints!!). Hard to explain, but man it was a totally different shooting experience. It literally had less felt recoil than the .223 Stevens 200 I brought with me. Weight and a muzzle brake do wonders :) As soon as I shouldered the rifle (on a bench with sand bags up front), it inspired confidence. I knew i was going to hit where I was aiming.. a strange, but very welcomed, feeling.

I took two shots with milsurp ammo at 400 yards and my impact was about 4" apart. I was shooting at an iron silhouette and was rewarded with the "dong" we all love to hear so much! :)

Thanks for the review and the walk down memory lane!

Well ... technically the article is my property. If I post the whole article on another forum it becomes their property as well, meaning they can claim it as their own. I've had people, including an admin of another forum, steal my articles and pictures and claim them as his own.

The second and more important reason is that if I post the article everywhere I have to go through and edit it if I made any mistakes or want to add something. By linking it on other sites to a master copy I can control the content, as some sites don't allow editing after so long.

I do get some traffic to my site, but frankly I just like doing the reviews and giving a return to those that enable them.

The TRG is a great gun, I'm eyeballing a TRG22 to add to the fleet.

Thanks for the feedback.
