Age of Pyrodex question

I had somebody give me 1 pound of Pyrodex P. The container it comes in looks old, it is a different label than what you buy today, but it is the Pyrodex P. The powder itself looks fine, there is no clumping or signs of moisture. He says it has always been stored inside in a cabinet.

Am I safe to use this even though it appears it could be 20 years old?

No way to tell. Pyrodex is affected by long term storage if it's exposed to ambient environment. If it was well protected it might be just fine. Otherwise it will give degraded performance: lower velocities. It is not a safety hazard.
