Aftermarket Sights

I'm replacing the sights on a G17. I hate those horseshoe notch things that come on a Glock. I like the 3 dot, but I'm curious what you guys choose for aftermarket sights?

I have Trijicon tritium night sights on my Glock 26, and 19. I have Heinie Slant Pro conventional sights on my G30. Both are excellent!!! You can get both at the link posted by WESHOOT2.

I think that this is the only time I would move to some form of night sight - if I was changing sights anyway. It sure doesn't hurt to have them.

I don't have a string preference. My eyes like Novak sights. What variety? Either 3 dot night sights or plain black. Regards, Richard

I put Novaks on most of my Glocks, but on the larger guns, G22, G24, and G35, I use the MMC adjustables. Of course since I use the .40 cal Glocks I want the adjustables to compensate for loads from 135gr to 200gr.

Novak

I like the Novak style three dot sights.

However, my favorite gun is a Colt Ofcrs' .45 with a Novak rear and an MMC tritium front sight. Mmmm.

Regards.

Richard, thank you for the nice words. I did not install the sights myself. The MMC's are installed by the dealer while I wait, he has a sight pusher. The Novak's are installed by my gunsmith because the front sight starts out as a square block which he has to shape to my preference and serrate the ramp. The slide is then sent off to IWI and the Novaks are drilled and fitted with orange tritium dots in the rear and a green dot in the front. I am not allowed to do anything with my guns but shoot them and clean them. If I go near them my gunsmith would shoot me. On April fools day I called him and made up a story about me trying to smooth out the action on a S&W revolver by putting jewelers rouge into the action and dry firing it for 6 hours. I also mentioned that I tried to bevel the edges on some parts on my .45 auto with a Dremel and that the grinder got away from me and 'skipped' across the frame. He was FURIOUS, but he is the kind of guy who is fun to 'tweak'.

I just had a set of PT night sights put on my SS Kimber Custom. I love them and I'm trying to find out if i can get them put on my SS Para P16-40.

Can't go wrong with Novaks with the tritium inserts. I don't know what it is about their shape but they seem to draw the eye to the front sight quicker than anything else I've tried. (Individual results may vary.)

Heinie Slant Pros are the best sights I've found for Glocks. Better than Trijicon and Meprolight IMHO. I have Novaks on my Colt Delta Elite and like them alot, too. All are noticeably superior to the stock units.

I just installed a set of Ashley Outdoors Big Dot Tritium Pro-Express tritium sights on my G19. The front sight dot is HUGE, and I find I acquire it quickly. More info at www.ashleyoutdoors.com

What I liked about the Ashley sights is they came with an installation kit consisting of front and rear sights, front sight installation tool, a polymer punch to remove the factory rear sight, allen wrench for installing the rear sight, and a small tube of Loc-Tite.

I've put Mep adjustables on all of my Glocks. Self installed with my sight installation tool from Meprolight.

I prefer the adjustables since I shoot a variety of loads. I know that x number of clicks gets me dead on for that particular load from my baseline.
