Aftermarket Mags for Kimber Solo

Hello the Camp!! - I am looking for some mags for a new Kimber Solo, 9MM. It came with on 6 Rd mag (Cheap bas-----). I would like to purchase 7 or 8 rd (Do they even make 8 rd mags for this pistol?) mags with the extended finger rest. The Kimber customer views have stated that the Kimber Solo mags are not the best, but made no reference as to what works. Who has had good luck with what brand mags? The Kimber factory 6 rd mags work well but no extended finger rest. Thanks in advance for all replies.

I don't really know, but I think you're stuck with whatever Kimber offers for mags on that gun.../ its not a 1911 design ...its a hybrid ( kind of like Springfield's EMP), so I wouldn't count on anyone else's mags working reliably in that gun. Buddy's that I know who bought EMP's have been stuck with the mags supplied by Springfield....for that gun even over a traditional springfield 1911 mag.....

Even some of Kimber's more traditional 1911's / like my 4" Kimber Tactical Pro II model --- don't seem to like anything other than Kimber mags / not that its a bad gun ..../ but Wilson Combat mags, that run in almost any other 1911 I have, will not run consistently in my Tactical Pro model Kimber.

You'll have to talk to Kimber direct / or to a master dealer for Kimber to be sure - and to find out if they're making anything except the 6 round mag offered with the gun.
