Affordable, quality rifle safe?

Hello, I was wondering what is the norm for a firearms safe? I'm looking to be storing upwards to at least 8-10 rifles if possible.

I can't go too expensive or too massive unfortunately since I just don't have the space for a vault.

Does anyone have suggestions for a good quality, yet affordable safe that I can store my rifles and keep them away from children and possible thieves?

If you have a tractor supply close to you, they have a very good Winchester safe for about $550.00, it weighs around 650 lbs and is very well made witha 1 hour fire rated and theft rated
Just remember anyone with a little knowledge and given enough time can break into your safe no matter which one you have.
As an added measure I ran a dummy 220 volt line into a small hole in the back of mine and put a sign on the door
"this safe is equipped with a mercury switch and a 220 volt line, any attempt to move it or open it will trigger the switch and result in severe shock and possible death"

what's your budget? The Centurion gun safe looks good enough, and I think it runs between $400-500. Not sure what kind of fire rating it has though

Wow, I was thinking I'd have to spend upwards to $800 for a good safe. 400-500 is pretty doable. I'd prefer to keep it below $600 if possible, $500 and below is much more agreeable.

I looked at the same safe rebs is referring to. It is a well built safe for the money. It also had the door oranizer included on the one i looked at. I also talked to tractor supply and they will finance also,at my location anyway. I'd like to get myself one. Make sure you check the specs and model. I'm not sure if the one i looked at was a new model or older model with lower fire rating.

Affordable and reliable usually do not go together when talking about safes. Youtube is full with videos of cracking safes open with knifes and screwdrivers. I had to open a medium-sized safe once and it took about 2 minutes with a reciprocating saw to cut it enough to be able to open the door.
At most it is a nice cabinet. Most have 12 or at most 10 gauge thick steel sheets and a layer of fire-proof clay sandwiched in between.
A TL-15 or TL-30 burglary safe will keep a determined burglar busy for 15 to 30 minutes. And those have 1/2" or 1" plates for walls.
Having a good alarm is more likely to save your guns than a regular gun safe.

Why is it that in every gun safe thread, people without fail mention that a safe won't keep out a determined burglar? While it may be the truth, it doesnt answer the op's question. So it may not keep out a determined, skilled burglar. But it will most certainly keep out the opportunistic smash and grab robber, which is probably more likely than a James bond-esque safe cracking cat burglar.

I do like the idea of a dummy electrical cord and warning sign. May have to do the same thing when i get a safe...

Spending too much money on a run-of-the-mill gun safe to me is a waste of money.
Craigslist on the other hand has often burglary safes from closed down jewelry stores or pawn shops - those are solid, heavy and difficult to crack by a regular burglar.
Most are small for full-sized rifles, but with luck a 36" tl-15 or tl-30 safe can be found for $400-500.

I looked around for a used safe for a couple months and was unable to find anything decent. I was in tractor supply around X-mas and they had the Winchester safe on a black friday sale. $549. I have had no issues with it so far. It has bolts all the way around and a pretty good fire rating. Would have been nice if it was a little larger. I would like to store my ammo and guns in the safe. As it is I am going to have to remove the shelves and use that space for long guns. I may just use an old filing cabinet for ammo and accessories.
As someone said all safes can be cracked easily by someone who is knowledgeable. I saw one cracked by drilling a 3/8 hole and smacking the mechanism with a steel rod and hammer. Then they turned the handle and opened the safe. Took all of 10 minutes. I dont expect the average crook knows how and where to drill a safe. If a pro is after my guns (which I doubt) than he will more than likely get them.

Ultimately, a safe is a deterrant, it makes the ne'er do well think if it's worth the hassel trying to get what is inside. Most thieves, if they're in a rush for a quick break in and grab won't bother because it's too risky.

I am well aware that no matter what my safety precautions are, if someone wants something, safe or no safe, they're usually going to get it.

But I'll be at peace more knowing that something that has the potential of being sold and then being used to kill someone was secured and locked away to the best of my ability at the time.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions, I'll have to see if the store(s) you've mentioned are in my area and if they'll be running any sales.

Tractor Supply Company. Yes! That's where I got my gun safe. It's perfect for my needs and the price was unbeatable. I did have to hire some help to have it moved to my house, though.
