Ok I have a Sig 226 in .357 Sig. Today I picked up a .40 Barrel for it and droped it in. When I went to load up the mags I got 9 rounds in fine but when I tried to get #10 in there I thought I was going to have to get a Hydraulic Press to do it. All three mags were like this. Even the one marked 357sig/40S&W. Wo whats the deal. is this normal. I almost had to pound on the butt of the mag to get it to load properly. Whats up guys?

Sometimes mags can be like this. I have this problem with Glock mags more so than others. Load your troublesome mags fully and let them remain loaded for a few weeks and they will loosen up and problem will go away. P.S. You have a great handgun in the Sig.

I have three 9 round(factory) magazines, and one 10 round (factory) magazine for my Hi Powers. I thought it was just a Browning thing :(
I know how you feel.

I also have this problem with my new Sig p226 .40. I can get 10 rounds in with difficulty, but when I try to insert the mag it won't go in all the way! No problem with 9 rounds. I haven't tried to force it. Is this normal? Thanks!

I have the same problem with my post-ban 10 round Glock factory mags in .40. I suspect if I just leave them loaded a while they will loosen up. I can't really get 13 in my pre-ban mags, either.

I've got the same problem with my Para-Ordnance P14-45 ten rounders as well.

Load with the slide locked open.

For the 9 vs. 10 problem, try loading ten and leaving the mags for a few weeks -- usually helps.

Be careful of pushing to hard to load that last round. I was putting the 10th rnd into my 10mm magazine and the weld broke! Fortunately it was an eaa, and the replaced it no questions asked, but I was sure surprised.
