Chris, I have owned SSG rifles for many years. They are excellent. The prices you listed are a bargain. I owned a SSG P-1 for several years and then traded it in for a PIIK. Both guns have been excellent. With that said, they are not perfect. Rebarreling is a problem since the receiver and barrel are pressed together, not screwed. Scope mounts are very expensive. I once broke the plastic floorplate by overtightening the stock screws. Accuracy suffered until I noticed the cracked plastic. The rifle is not bedded as securely as some other designs. The P1 had a Kahles/Swarovski 10X scope. I did not like that scope. The adjustments on it were difficult and the reticle was not centered. Both of my SSG rifles have shot very well. My PIIK shoots sub MOA to 800 yards. I have other full sized "tactical" rifles so I traded the P1 for the shorter PIIK. For all round use my longer P1 with a Leupold 4-14x tactical scope was probably the better setup. It probably was as good as any of my other rifles that have cost more. In my opinion Steyr will probably phase out the SSG in favor of their SBS action. That may be why the prices have dropped. In any case the SSG is a winner.
