Advice on a S&W 617

I just got this gun and I want to make the best of it! I'm hoping to put ~1000 rounds through it a month. My questions are:

1) Lead or copper plated ammo, and any favorites out there that are economical?

2) How often to clean the bore, and with what?

3) How many rounds between a trip to the gunsmith for adjustment, check up, etc?

4) How many rounds can you reasonably expect in it's service life?

All info greatly appreciated. It's a great gun so far, and I want to take good care of it (while putting lots of rounds through!)

Thanks!

Well Here We Go:

1. It doesn't matter. Test different rounds to see what you and the gun together like best.
2.You clean it when you're in the mood, once a year, or 10,000 rounds whichever comes first...if you're in the mood...if not wait till next year.
2A. Hoppes#9 still works just fine.
3. Never...unless you beat the crap out of it.
4. Some where between 100,000 and 1.000,000 rounds. When you've warn it out toss it in the trash and go but a new one.

I pass a patch dipped in Hoppe#9 through the bore and the chambers once in awhile. I don't pass brushes through em. Does it matter? I don't know. It's ust the way I learned it for 22s.

I clean the externals after each use. I also run a drop of oil down the hammer face once in awhile.

Revolvers are pretty low maintenance. It's just a pain to clean 6 chambers.
