Looking to add a HK to the collection but not sure which to add. The current choices are the Mark 23 & USP Match and would like to know any advantages/disadvantages between these two.

Also, are these models available in .9mm, and if so, and suggestions on choosing .9mm or .45?

Really comes down to personal preference. USP Match is an excellent shooter with a long barrel and neat trigger. The Mk 23 is a big pistol with a threaded barrel and separate decocker and safety (IIRC), unlike the the Match with a single control for both functions.

The USP Tactical will do everything the Mk.23 will do, and is smaller. If you don't have one of those, get one. 12-rnd mags for all HK 45 pistols is running $90 to $130 each. 10-rnd HK mags are still around $40 each.

There is still some debate as to whether any .45 12 rounders are legal since the pistols in question were introduced after the ban.

The 23 is only available in .45.

The Match is not currently produced in 9mm. There are legal HK Full Size (polymer) 9mm pre-ban mags available. I believe this pistol in 9 was used in the Tomb Raider movie.

9mm is cheaper to shoot but some distrust it's power. I do not. Were I forced to buy a HK USP variant however, I too would go with the Tactical which I believe is only available in .45.

The UPS Match has been discontinued for over two years now and was never available in 9mm on this side of the pond. It was imported as a .45 acp only and there were two incarnations. Good overall shooter, but many complaints that it was too front heavy.

The Mach 23. Well, it's expensive! Great concept, but too big for most shooters.

The two tickets from HK are the Expert line (.40 and .45) and the Tactical model.
