I recently bought a savage model 16fxp3 in .223rem. the trigger is set a little stiff from the factory (on this one anyway) and before i go taking it all apart i was wondering if its really as easy as it looks in the manual. sorry if this is a repeat of another thread, i looked but didn't find any info specifically related to this.

Yes, it's really that easy. Just follow the directions and you'll be fine. A trigger pull gauge would be nice to have so you can check the pull weight.

Also, please do a safety test with an unloaded gun afterward to make sure that the gun won't fire inadvertently.

Just understand how the Accutrigger works. If the trigger pull is set too light, the sear will disengage if the gun is jarred. The only difference is that the block, like the half-cock notch on some rifles and pistols, will keep an unsafe gun from firing. In other words, it protects the person who wants to adjust the trigger pull to what would otherwise be an unsafe level.

But when the finger is put on the trigger, the block disengages and the gun can fire at a very light (too light) touch.
