Adjustable Sights...

Hi everyone:

I am new to this adjustable sight thing. My questions may seem dumb but I´ll give them a try...

I own several guns all with fixed sights (Novac-Trijicon). They have worked great for me in my defensive shooting drills showing even more accuracy than expected. I use my guns in first place for self defense and carry everyday. I do not shoot (nor intend to) precision targets with my handguns. SELF DEFENSE-COMBAT SHOOTING ONLY. My primary weapons for daily carry are: Glock 30, S&W 6906 and believe or not SW SIGMA SW9VE.

I will like to know the pros and cons about adjustables for defensive porpouses. What is your experience?

Should I get adjustables on my main weapons?? If yes, no doubt i will need a snag-proof-low profile design.

Can you suggest any??

Any thoughts will de appreciated and welcomed!!!

:)

Thanks

The best adjustable sights geared towards self defense IMO can be found at the link JimV posted. But... I'm of the opinion that if fixed sights are on target at combative ranges why bother? That said, I do have MMC adjustables on a couple of my pistols. A very durable and practical design.

I had MMC sights but didn't like em. They were too bulky. However, they do work as advertised! You can adjust for elevation but need to drift the sight for windage.

Adjustable sights on a self-defense gun are a personal choice, but they won't offer any better accuracy than fixed sights if used in its intended role. They will make some of your holsters unusable, in some cases, because of their higher profile as well as being something else that can go down at the worst possible time.

Combat guns should have fixed combat sights.
Target guns should have adjustable target sights.
Playing around with this formula may, or may not, result in poor performance.
