adjustable sights on taurus 85

so i have a taurus 85UL 38spl and am wondering if adjustable sights can be installed on this gun,front and rear or just rear,rear only makes the most sense as that would require the least machining,but can it be done and how much would such a mod cost me?
 
Most rear sights require machining that will weaken the rather thin top strap of that small frame gun, plus the rear adjustable sight installations I can think of sit high enough that a new front sight blade is required.

I don't know if Taurus made an adjustable sight small frame or not, but all things considered it might be better to look around for one of the S&W Model 36 revolvers with adjustable sights and do a trade. I think it would cost less than the sight job, assuming someone would do it.

The only cost effective way I know of to zero that type of sight would be building up and thinning down the appropriate sides/top of the front sight.

I wouldn't do it, agreeing with Jim, FWIW.

I have a Taurus model 82 I think. It has fixed sights and I wouldn't change a thing. It goes to the range every time I go and is good for 1 ragged hole at POA, (unless it's me goofing up). That's one of the guns I use to know whether or not it's me. Is yours off?
 
You're either going to have to:

1. Take some height off the front sight, which may or may not leave it too short to be usable;

or

2. Find a lighter/faster load to change POI toward your POA.

Lets not get to picky with the snubby,don't forget what it's general purpose is for,in a self defense sit rep you'll be lucky if your using it 5-6 " away from intended target in all reality. If it's really bothering you,you could send it back for warranty work!
 
The Taurus manual that came with my CH-85 said the sights were regulated for 158 grain bullets. They were right. Any other weight shoots low or to one side or the other.

D-T..;; Don't you mean heavier? I thought in a hand gun heavy bullets hit higher?
