Addiction fueled by Firing Line

I have always loved shooting, and have always shot. I just recently, however joined this forum, and now my addiction has gotten much worse. I am fortunate enough to live in a place where I can shoot in my back yard, and I do regularly. unfortunately simply shooting is not enough to satisfy my addiction. Reading about everyone's experiences has got me thinking about all the other toys that I simply can't live without. This is very bad because I also cannot afford them right now

You need brakes.

Actually, I think we''ve all been there at some point in our lives. Having lots of money creates just the opposite problem in that your span of contentment becomes so short that hardly a month after buying the gun you couldn't live without, it now rests forgotten in the gun safe while you oggle yet another toy.

Better to buy fewer quality guns than lots of el cheapos. For example, if you want a 1911, avoid the low end guns but you also don't need a $2000.00 gun either. I paid about $600.00 for my S&W 1911 and I love it. Three or four years now without stoppage and more accurate than I can shoot.

That's great advice that I think too few people adhere too. It's something I've always truly believed, and though I don't have a lot of money I do buy quality guns. My last two three have been two rem 700's and a Benelli pump. The next gun I'm looking at is a kimber pro carry stainless :D

I agree completely! I just wish I had a spot to shoot. I cash spend all day on here dreaming about my next 5 purchases, just need to find a good club around central il that can allow me to use my toys.
