Added a new carry peice to the mix. KAHR CM9

I have been wanting to add a single stack 9mm to my rotation. buddy of mine had a CM9 that he was no longer carrying and I happened to have a spare 38 special revolver he liked.
Soo a swap ensued.

I have shot this one before so I know kind of what to expect. nice smooth double action pull.

I know some guys poopoo the idea of having more than one carry gun.
" train with the one your gona carry then carry it"
I get that, but I just cant roll that way. I have way too many varied interests to only have one option.

Besides I really like shooting so I become proficient with all I have.

Any way, here is the newest one to add to the mix KAHR CM9.
I will take it to the range next week and put a few hundred through it.
But really I dont see any issues at all. Its close enough in format to my primary carry peice XD's 45 and it even fits the same holster. SO I can just swap em out as I get the urge.
Toting it around the house for a few hours. Its really light and very easy to carry. It actually rides deeper in the small of my back and should be real easy to carry under a T shirt in the summer.

Here are a few images:

Here it is compared to my XD's

I looked at one the other day. They have really really nice triggers in my opinion. Looking forward to hearing your range report.

Very nice. I carry mine in a Alien Gear 3.0 and almost forget its there sometimes. I have just over 200 rounds through mine and haven't had any failures. What I like about it is that for such a small gun it is still a fun range gun and I think it makes me a better shooter. Trigger pull is very long, there really isn't a reset to speak of but like you said, it is a very smooth pull.

I think I am really going to like carrying it. The most comfortable IWB gun I have is a J frame revolver. Nothing beats how a small revolver fits.
Most semi autos kind of stick out a bit at the grip.
Thats why I moved to a single stack XD's.

This KAHR fits even better. Not a whole lot of difference than the J frame.

For me staying concealed and comfort are my #1 issues. Every thing else is secondary. if its not comfortable and pokes out. I wont carry it long.

In Minnesota your not breaking a law to carry in a place that is posted " No guns" But you do have to leave if asked. other wise you could be charged with trespass. ( not counting Gov buildings. You can get arrested for that. I dont carry there)
So If I am going in. I want to be the only one that knows about it. Maybe even to a point of being over sensitive to it.
it is what it is though. When I want a pizza I want a pizza, not fight with the manager and I also dont want to be left unprotected if some one decides to stick up the place.

I recently bought a CM45. I have never owned a Kahr before. So far, its been excellent. I have been thinking of picking up a CM9 just to play with, and to have another carry option. I like the somewhat longer trigger pull, I think its perfect for a defense pistol.

I have a PM9, basically, a more expensive version of the CM9. Well made gun that I have had no problems with. THe nice thing about the CM/PM 9 is that it's once of the few 9mm's that can be pocket carried (which is why I bought one)

I carry a CM9 quite a bit. I keep the flush mag in it. I have a 7 round and 8 round magazine for it also. The 7 round mag extends the grip and I like that. I recommend picking up a 7 round mag. The 8 round works but it doesn't have a spacer and I don't like how the 8 rounder feels. Oops never mind I see you have an extended mag.

A CM9 is also in my carry rotation. Co ceals well, and is very comfortable to carry in a Theis Hybrid IWB holster. Great shooter, and has been 100% reliable. My only complaint was the post & bar sights that I just couldn't get used to. Rectified that quickly with some white sight paint in those little triangular grooves on each side of the rear sight.

I like my cm40. Everyone acts like a micro .40 is harsh recoil but really its not that snappy and is a great shooter. The pm series I believe has a match grade barrel and some better features. I like the "i" dot sight sytem. I plan to change to a trijicon front or maybe xs standard dot. The extension mags are comfy, but I like the normal length too. For you guys who dont like the pinky finger hanging off, train with an interlocking grip just like you would hold an interlocking pinky finger golf grip. I swear it has helped a few buddies who wanted to sell becuase of their fat or long meaty sausage digits.

The only advantage for the CM9 vs CM40 is the recoil spring strength. Slide manipulation is much easier on the 9mm for obvious reasons. I really have to overhand grip with my weak side hand and hard stroke that beast. But on the good side that sucker returns into battery sooo fast.

My only gripe on the CM is the small side plate design thingy on the side opposite the slide stop lever...(for lack of the actual terminology)

that side plate is reportedly there for your protection if the gun kabooms. Kind of a vent release.

I am not 100% I've read anyone saying anything about it during a kaboom.
