Adams & Bennett barrels

Anyone have experiance with Adams and bennett barrels? I'm toying with the Idea of rebarreling a Savage 11F 243 into either a 338fed or 358 win. Are they good quality. Midway has them for $129. The Shilen is twice that. So are they a bargain or just low quality?

I have a stainless bull on my Sav 110 in .243. No complaints and very accurate. So far 1100 rds of 58 gr Vmax @ 3500 fps.

I toyed with an A&B barrel on my 22-250. It shoots 5/8"-3/4". Not bad, but not good enough for a varminting rig. I suppose for a hunting rifle it would be great, maybe I'm just too picky. They are a good value, but you really do get what you pay for . . .

Yep, you get what you pay for, and that is very true when buying barrels.
IIRC, A&B barrels are made by Green Mountain in Conway, New Hamshire.
If you want the very best accuracy you can get from your rifle, take a little more time saving money and get a top of the line barrels like a Hart. I've been using Hart Barrels since 1968 and all of my rifles with those barrels shoot extremely well.
The problem with buying a barrel like an A&B is that after getting it, you'll wish you had bought the best barrel available.
Hart Rifle Barrels is located in LaFayette, New York, just south of Syracuse.

+1 on the Hart. Kreiger is also top of the line, but a little more expensive and much longer delivery than the Hart. Lots of others up there with Hart also, look around.

The A&B barrels that I have installed have been uniformly better than factory barrels and certainly more than adequate for hunting purposes. I buy and use more expensive barrels, but I have no qualms with using the A&B barrels either.

If they can do a 3 round group within 1"-1 1/2" at 100yds I'd be happy. I looked at the Shilen, but they didnt have the calibers I was lokking for.

Could be that Midway's having their A&B house-brand barrels manufactured only by Green Mountain; however, at one time, they were using several manufacturers. You never really knew whether you were getting a Wilson or some other brand barrel.
