Acu-Sight Laser Bore Sight

Anyone use the Acu-Sight Bore lasers? Thinking about buying a couple to sight in my .223 and .308. Next to firing rounds from a steady position, this appears to be a good idea.

From what I understand, you put the cartridge in the chamber and it shines a laser out the bore. Then you just adjust your scope to match the laser.

Anyone have any luck with these?

I've boresighted with a laser and it's nice if you want to be close before you get to the range. I prop the gun up and shine the laser on the farthest inside wall of my house. The laser dot is small and you can make a relatively good adjustment. The downside, is that in the $50 kits that I have seen, the low intensity can be impossible to see the dot on a bright day.

I nice perk to have, but pretty pricey for the number of shots you save over bagging the gun and looking down the bore at 25 yards as Absolom suggested.

Maybe a guy that scopes rifles for a living might find a good use for one, but I think they're a bit overkill for the home-user.

I sight my scopes in by picking a 100yd target around the shop somewhere. I sight in to the target from benchrest using the open sights, then sight the scope in to the target.

So far, I've only had to adjust the scopes very little when I take it to the actual test shoot.

You have to do the same thing when you bore-sight with a laser at a wall anyway, so why bother with laser-sighting if you're not in the business?
