action tuning

I'm looking into getting a .38 snub. A Smith Colt or maybe a taurus. Where can you get a super smooth action job done? I have smoothed up a couple of K-frames myself. I traded off a model 65 that was as smooth as any revolver as I have seen and I wish I had it back. I have heard that it is harder to do a J- frame with the coil spring.
Any preferances on models? I'm considering a S&W 36,37,65LS or a Colt DS or Taurus 85.

Depending on what your willing to carry, the easiest gun to get a really good action on will be the S&W Model 65LS.

There aren't many people around anymore who work on Colt's.
I personally wouldn't want a Taurus, and they're harder to tune than any of the others.
The small "J" frame S&W's are tunable, but not to the same level the bigger "K" frame is.

A lot of people consider the 3" "K" frame S&W to be the ultimate carry gun.
You get a gun big enough to hold on to and easy to shoot well, small enough to conceal, a full-stroke ejector, and great sights.

Since the "K" frame uses the larger S&W action, it's easier to tune to a high level than any of the other guns you mentioned.

If you want a great action job, but still have a reliable gun, you'd be hard pressed to find a better tuner than S&W themselves.
Prices are usually very competitive, plus you KNOW it's going to be done right, with no short cuts, or inappropriate techniques.
