I have an Interarms 7mm Rem Mag Mark X and on the barrel is stamped P O Ackley Inc S L C Ut and it is stamped just like that with the same spacing and the small t right next to the capital u. Anybody have any idea's on what the ackley stamping means. Gun ss# is A26833

P O Ackley is the gunsmith that developed the "Ackley Improved" line of chamberings. Just ggogled it and he worked with another company from salt lake and sold them the right to use his name

I'm told that in the early 70s, PO Ackley became involved in a project with a company called EMDEKO. They bought his barrel business and made rifles in Salt Lake City with his name on the barrel. EMDEKO used Interarms actions and straight grained walnut for the stock. From what I understand, they were pretty good hunting rifles, but didn't generally come with an improved chamber. Your gunsmith can make a chamber casting, but I'd bet that you've got a 7mm Rem Mag rifle from that project.
