I would like to refinish a Rem 870 and I'm concerned about the pre-park pickling effect on the delicate ejector spring, as well as on the shell-stops - the "embrittlement thing". I'm so concerned about this that I'm soliciting opinions on different forums. This particular 870 has been parked before, and these springs are now black. What effect can acid dips and parkerizing (itself an acid solution) have on springs, particularly the thin little leaf-spring of the 870 ejector?
PS: George, do you have any thoughts on this? Thanks
