Accutip African Success

It has been done. I have just returned from my first South African hunt and all I can say is WOW! The amount of game I saw was staggering. Everytime you turned around the was another animal. The ranch has been in business for 16 years and have never seen a slug gun, and had no idea what it was capable of. But, the first day dropping a blesbok at 172 steps got their attention. Next a big Kudu folded at 55 steps, got up and staggered 30 more before giving up the ghost. Next was a very nice impala at 125. Then a springbok at 140. Finally a female duiker at 100 on the last day. We hunted hard but could not get a shot at a good male. The bush pig hunt was an extra, and probably the most memorable. We met the dog guys and their hounds well before daylight. Some farmers had been having damage on the orange and apricot groves. What the didn't tell me was the grow their fruits in the mountains. A bush pig hunt in the mountains with dogs was by far the hardest thing I have ever done. I excerted myself so much I could not get out of bed the next day. Now that's hunting. The slugs peformed as advertised with 90% weight retension or better. I recover 4 out of 6 slugs, with the springbok and duiker pass thru's. So when they tell you " Your gunna use that ther' slug gun" you say yea, it's tested Africa tough. This was a spot and stalk hunt all the way. No blinds, just boot leather. Try Thorndale Safaris, super people, stately lodge, acceptable price, and great food. Do it, you won't be sorry

Impala, springbok, and duiker shoulder mounts, all skulls cleaned and dipped, plus kudu rug, $1300.00. 1/3 of the cost in the US. That's shipping too.
