About 3 weeks ago I ordered a custom-design/custom diameter 44caliber/280gr FlatNose bullet mold
for my `92 Winchester (Rossi).
It got here yesterday.
Now I've got (literally) countless molds in everything from .375 - 58 caliber, in plain-base, gas-checked,
hollow-base, grooved&lubed to smooth-sided paper patch.
I've got`em from Lyman, RCBS, SAECO, Paul Jones, BACO, and a host of other custom makers.
NEVER have I seen as strikingly well-engineered/finished a mold as what came out of that box.
But the proof's in the molding so I fired up the #2 pot, scrubbed the mold out with dishsoap & toothbrush,
and preheated things while the lead came up to temp.
Perfect bullets, perfect diameters, matching weight in both cavities right from the start.
It takes a lot to impress me lately.
I'm impressed.
