Can any of you men reccomend some books that accurately depict history? I want some good resources to teach my kids. I appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks

Yes, most certainly.

The best book would be "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn. It also comes in an audio book for recent American History read by Matt Damon. I have both. It is told from the underdog's perspective. There is an IMMENSE amount of research in this book.

Definitely check it out. Since you are asking about accuracy, you are on the right track as what they teach in schools is BS. Happy reading!

Please read this Joseph Sobran column and consider just what you're asking. http://www.sobran.com/columns/2005/050118.shtml
I love to quote the exchange that ends Bernard Shaw’s play The Devil’s Disciple. Major Swindon asks, “But what will history say?” General Burgoyne replies, with cynical Shavian wit, “History, sir, will tell lies, as usual.”

An excellent riposte, but it’s a half-truth. The common question “What will History say?” can never have a final answer, because there is no such thing, person, or goddess as a univocal History.

<snip>

Which brings us to another common saying: “History is written by the victors.” This too is a half-truth. Yes, the victors usually write the first draft of history, and they may destroy any records favorable to the losers. But often, enough records survive to support later revisionism, or at least strong doubts about the victors’ version.
And then, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to ask your question elsewhere as it is off-topic for this site. I hope my response helped you somewhat. Give TFR, THR or FFF a try. :)
