Does anyone know what effect outside temp has
on accuracy, as the temp. reaches 100 here in
texas my groups tend to open up, is it me,?
perhaps the heat is getting to me,anyway maybe someone knows.?

What firearm are you referring to and how much "opening" of the groups are you seeing?

NRA? Good. Now join the GOA!

The NRA is our shield, the GOA will be our sword.

Higher temps will often increase pressure. Also it can cause a little bullet lube to effect the powder (good lube is generally not a problem). That could lower your velocity.

For either of the above effects, it will probably be somewhat eratic from round to round.

In theory an increase (or decrease) in pressure could 1) have no effect at all, 2) inprove accuracy, or 3) deteriorate accuracy.

A lot depends on the gun and load. Almost always a change which is eratic from round to round will deteriorate accuracy.

Makarov pistol, reloads, lead bullets I have
always used, this gun will normally shoot 2in
groups at 25 yards, (5shot groups) Now I get
3 within 2in, and then 2shots all over the
target. No other change then temp.has occured.
