For all you shooters in the Phoenix area, be advised Marty had a major stroke last Thursday and was found unresponsive and not breathing on Friday.

He is in Banner Baywood hospital in very critical condition.

I have picked up the rifle I was letting them work on due to the uncertainty of shop operation.

They are going to try to keep the smaller jobs going as they try to work through this serious situation.

Derrick Martin will be working weekends to try to keep the business going.

It will be a tough road for a while. Please keep them in your prayers.

Things have not gone well.

Marty is to be taken off life support Sunday afternoon at 2 pm.

Please keep him and his family in your prayers.

God is in charge.

Thanks for those updates, Geetarman. I knew Marty through his work on our 1911's and rifles.
He sure was a master working on 1911's, but even more than that, he was genuinely a nice guy and a good person, and my wife and I considered him our friend.
RIP, Marty. You left us all way too soon.

Marty was a genuine Type-"A" personality. He was always going 125%.

I can't tell you how many times I went to the shop for advice and minor tweaking and they never charged a dime. His prices were fair and his work was good. I hope the shop can stay open. They did trigger jobs on several rifles and I always smiled when I tried them out. Derrick and Marty both did good work and once they knew you, they offered advice and tips without looking down on someone with less knowledge.

Whenever I would question them about not charging, they always said to bring the bigger jobs back and they would be happy.

Marty will be missed and he was a genuine "character." I mean that in the best way.

We need more people like him around. He had a knack with guns and he loved shooting. Derrick is the same way.

Those folks are just hard to come by.:(
