Accuracy Question

I have a ‘58 Remington and was just wondering if anyone has compared the accuracy of using a thick lubricated vegetable fiber wad, like a shotgun wad, versus something like cornmeal to completely fill the cylinders? I finally found a load my pistol likes while using a felt overpowder wad, but have never experimented to try and improve on the accuracy with either a thicker wad or cornmeal. My thinking is that a thicker wad would be preferable to adding something that would require an additional measure. Before I spring for a bag of wads I may well never end up using, I thought I would ask for an opinion here.

Anything that's added to the load can potentially change how it will perform.
That's because adding a thicker wad changes the weight in front of the powder charge which can alter the velocity.
That doesn't mean that it will make it shoot worse but one never knows until they try it.

I can only say that these revolvers when shot in National compentition, the
guys do not use any wads. They are trying for the very best of accuracy.
They do not use bullets either.
