Accu-shadow v. Witness Hunter v. Dan Wesson heritage

I'm in the market for a new target pistol and I'd like some input from those in the know. I want a highly accurate semi but I'm not sure which I want. I've handled a witness elite match and it fit my hand perfectly. I also recently handled a cz sp01 accu-shadow and it was a little small for my big hands but I could get thicker grips. The trigger was a little better than the witness, but not much. And then there's the Dan Wesson line of 1911s. I've never handled a Dan Wesson but I suspect they feel as good as many 1911s, just more accurate.
So my question is which is the more mechanically accurate gun, for those that have shot them?
Please don't respond with "whichever one fits you best". I already know these three work for me ergonomically. Looking at mechanical accuracy.

OK, I am confused. Accu-Shadow is a 9mm, Witness Hunter is a Long Slide 10mm and the Wesson Heritage is a 45acp.

Exactly what caliber are you wanting?

I only have a Dan Wesson, Pointman 7 in 45, so I can only speak to it but I am sure the same barrels are used as the rest of the DWs. Using a 200 grain SWC and after playing with the load a bit, it grouped in the 2.5" range @ 50 yards. Now switching to probably the most popular jacketed match bullet, the Nosler 185 HP, I was at or just under 2" @ 50 yards. Every pistol I have benefits from playing with loading particularly seating depth. Too often someone will see me shoot, ask about loads, and expect the same results from their gun without some custom tailoring. It normally isn't that simple. Hope this helps. YMMV

Witness limited elite.

4.75" cone fit barrel. Any caliber you want! 9mm, 38super, 40sw, 10mm or 45acp.

Predrilled and tapped for optic and has a mag well.

My write-in vote goes to the Dan Wesson Pointman Nine. If you take the time to tailor a 9mm load for it, this is one of the best 9mm target guns you are likely to come across. Already comes with a Fiber-Optic FS!

Red-5 I don't care so much about caliber as I do accuracy. For the record the hunter I'm looking at is the one in 45 acp.
Saleen322, that's some serious accuracy. How long did it take you to find that load?
Thanks for all the input! Keep it coming!

Accuracy, that would probably be a Les Bear Premier II with the 1.5" guarantee, but it will set you back $2K plus.

All that you mentioned are accurate and are all very good pistols. It really depends on what you are wanting, a 1911 or CZ 75 type of gun.

In regards to trigger, I doubt you will find anything as good as a 1911. My accu is pretty darn close, but still not as good as any of my 1911's.

For big meaty hands, you may want to check out the CZ Tactical Sport. Accurate as all get out. Trigger pull 2#'s or less right out of the box. 20 rounds 9mm or 17 in .40

What kind of accuracy are you wanting?
It's not fair to expect the same accuracy from a mass produced model as a custom gun.
So, it might come down to what's the most accurate for a price range.
Any druthers in that regard?

A couple of years ago I wanted to shoot some EIC matches but did not want to buy a gun to do that with. Les Baer makes a CMP legal 45 that is guaranteed to group hard ball 3" @ 50 yards. I made a couple of changes to the appearance of the Dan Wesson to make it CMP legal and started working on a load. The Dan Wesson got in the 3" range using Sierra 230 FMJ match bullets so I knew it was a shooter. It was good enough that I earned points in two of the three matches I shot with it. After that I tried some target bullets and was able to get the groups I quoted. I would never be afraid to buy another Dan Wesson.

Gwilikers I'm looking for a gun that can consistently group 4 inches at 50 yards without too much tinkering with loads.
Lots of good experience with Dan Wesson here. Any one shoot one of the witness elite guns?

I shoot witness stock 2 in 9mm and 40sw and a limited pro in 9mm.

The cone barrels lock up tight as a drum, but even the straight barrels lock up tight and are equally good shooters. But I have not the motivation to bench them for groups at 50yds, so I have no first hand for you.
