Accidently bought weaver rings for my Marlin 60

The title says it all. I was buying my first optic for a .22 and completely forgot about the groove diameter being so small (3/8 IIRC). Can I just buy some sort of adapter piece that will fit the 3/8 groove and then mount the normal weaver rings to that adapter? Or should I just take the thing back to WM and grab a rimfire specific scope, which I assume will fit?

Id just return it, walmart is pretty good about that kind of stuff. Get what works dont go spending even more money on adapters.

Yes I believe Tasco makes an adapter and I think Cabellas carries them for around $10

You can just buy a picatinny base or reular weaver scope base to mount on the rifle, then mount the rings to that, or just return the rings and get the correct one. Either way, you are looking at a trip to the store...
