Acceptable Forms of ID For Handgun Purchase

Whilst I agree with many who feel that providing any form of identification for "registration" purposes when purchasing a handgun or firearm of any type is a direct violation of RKBA rights, it remains a fact of life.

One of my workmates does not possess either a state ID card (just doesn't seem to be bothered) or a driving license on account of a disability. A recent conversation I had with him briefly touched on the issue of how he could provide suitable ID for a handgun purchase. I advised him that a passport for the photo ID side of the equation and maybe a utility bill or better still one of the new Social Security statements to cover the address requirements would probably do it. Anyone out there who completes a lot of the registration/approval forms got any better ideas ?

Not sure about PA, but here in Virginia both forms of ID must show the same address. One form must be a state issued drivers license or walkers ID (does not matter what state for military stationed in VA). A passport will count as a second ID, even though it does not have an address printed on it, the address can be inked in!! Go figure. Also the ID must be more then 30 days old to be valid.
Hope this helps.

Here in New Mexico you only need 1 ID. Why doesn't he just get a state ID? They come in handy. I am surprised if a bank will cash a check for him without one.
