what is the point of this website? an online weekly ad for their stores?

If you list ammunition as in stock but "can only be bought in a store" whats the point?
 
Yep, when it comes to ammo, the Academy website is pretty useless. Before the Great Ammo Panic of 2008, You could not order ammo online for home delivery from Academy. You could not order ammo online for pickup at the local Academy store. Nor could you go to the local Academy store and have them special order ammo for store delivery for you to pick up. The local Academy only stocks whatever ammo that their distribution center sends them, And they never know what, when & how much ammo they will receive. I'm sure in these post panic days, things haven't changed.
 
It's bait and switch. To get you in the door. I had a row with Cabela's that advertised a specific rifle. I drove up and they had none. In fact, they had only 4 in the entire USA. I wrote to customer service and they informed me that they put the ads together months in advance - I said a web ad can be changed in a flash. Blah, blah - no satisfaction. I did note that their ads now say to call an 800 number to check.
