Absolutely amazing!

The events of this week have not only left me in awe, but has filled me with renewed faith that the "little people" CAN, in fact, effect gov't policy AND that right can overcome wrong, even if you're wealthy.
I was sick at heart thinking those SOBs in the Senate were going to pass that disgusting immigration bill.
But after weeks of the American people calling/emailing senators, demonstrating, and otherwise vociferously voicing outrage, the bill was defeated!
CONGRATULATIONS to all of us that took a stand!
Next, Paris Hilton has actually been incarcerated, albeit in the loony wing of the jail, but incarcerated none the less.
(I'm surprised to find that I actually feel just a smidgeon of pity for her!)
Regardless, a very wealthy individual thumbed their nose at our laws and is now paying for it.
I like that idea.
Third, Not only won't there be a property tax increase in Florida, but there is going to be a REDUCTION!:)
TAXES GOING DOWN!?!?!?
Amazing!:)
God Bless America!
Now........BUILD THE FRIGGIN' FENCE!!!!

This is just like in the first Star Wars movie after Luke popped the Death Star. Oh, sure, a tactical victory, but Vader survived and the entire bunch (including a translucent Obi Wan) came back for a muddled and poorly executed sequel.

We await the immigration, country-give-away version of "The Empire Strikes Back."

The internet, talk radio, and bloggers pulled down the immigration bill . . . for the second time. The ruling class has to do one of two things: either implement the legislation via extralegislative means or throw a blanket over the internet and talk radio. This uppity stuff of standing up to the ruling class will be stopped.

gc70,
I must be missing how your post fits in with the opening points of this thread?!
I'm gonna start it's own thread....OK?

DasBoot?

its not over yet; we still need to make calls, faxes; go to numbersusa, and they will send a free fax for you. this country is being over run, and not just with illegals. theres some food for thought.

It's definitely not over. Bush has a tin ear on it and Tony Snowjob has been condescendingly insisting that Americans are just too stupid to understand Why It's Good For America. :barf:

Michael Reagan also read off, in disgust, the White House Talking Points fax he'd been given of what to say about it, that it's Good For America and We Need This Bill. He pretty much told them to shove it.

That says a lot.

I have mixed feelings on that.
On one hand, equal "justice" should apply to all.
On the other - the cost/hassle of locking up someone with "celebrity status", has to be a major PITA for the facility.

I think in her case, a month of community service - say changing bed pans in a VA hospital,, would be a whole lot better for all concerned than a month in the county lock-up.

President Bush, wading deeper into an issue that bitterly divides his party, hopes a personal appeal can help persuade skeptical Republicans to resurrect and pass his immigration bill.

I wonder when Bush is going to wake up. He has NO personal appeal with the conservative faction of the Republican party.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of us that took a stand!

Thanks. We (all) humbly accept!

Also a good site. http://www.alipac.us/index.php

Amazing

I would like to add to your amazing list. McCain said that the failure of the immigration bill means that every day hundreds more illegals cross our borders. Also, I assume any terrorist that wants to cross.

Please think about the logic. He is saying that the United States cannot have secure borders unless we pass the immigration bill. That is a lie. The President or Congress has always had the power to secure our borders. Bush, McCain, & Kennedy got a big surprise that the American people saw through their scam.

The United States can secure it's borders against illegals or terrorist without any additional bill being passed....period.
