? about Winchester 94 serial # date

I'm looking at one with serial number 259xxxx. Was told it's a 1963 model but several conflicting sites, some say 1964 starts with 270xxxx numbers and some say 1963 ended with 2586000. Any help appreciated, he only wants $350 and it's in good shape

I punched in 2593030 and it said 1962 was the year. Good luck.

I have seen several sources quoting the 2,700,000 as the start of the post 1963 models. I can't say for 100% for sure that is correct, but have seen it several times and believe it to be so. I realize that would leave a gap where no numbers would be used, but sometimes stuff like that happens
