About "Why do you have guns" - you lose.

We of TFL fell into the trap, and pro-gun people usually fall into this one.

The question should be "why do you NOT have guns" :)

Or perhaps "Why does government who we installed to protect us from the initiation of force use force against us for being armed"?

Yes, property ownership and defense of your life ARE individual rights - a violent criminal (govt, liberal or other - yes, liberals are violent criminals - they support laws that must be enforced violently) who would deprive you of your rights is the one with some explaining to do.

I did not get into owning guns until it became clear that I might not have a choice soon. It is likely that I would not have purchased any guns had it not been for the threats from my own damn govt.

The only outcome I can think of that would result from the country being disarmed is something akin to the Holocaust. No, thanks!

I agree. Like the rest of the BOR, it's not a "needs" based right.

Why do you "need" freedom of speech?

Why do you "need" a trial by jury?

Why do you "need" the right to invoke the 5th?

No other amendment has the same "needs" based logic associated with it and we have to keep from falling in that trap.
