Looking For Some In-put About S&w 325 Pd. Looking To Purchase For Cc And Was Wondering About Shooting Properties (recoil, reliability, accuracy ,ease Of Carry Etc,) Anyone Have Any Experience??? Thanks For The Info

I've had a 325 "PD" about a year...it is a NICE little gun...using 230 gr. "Ball", recoil was daunting with the Ahrends' grips that are supplied with the piece...at least, to me...replacing the Ahrends' grips with Hogue rubber "Monogrips" has made all the difference in the world, in my view...keep in mind, it is meant as a big-bore "Belly Gun", NOT a "Target" piece...
I am NOT very fond of the "Hi Viz" front sight, nor the shallow "V-notch" rear...I THINK the gun is probably as accurate as any of my 625's, but I can't PROVE OR DISPROVE that because the sights are a limiting factor...I cannot align them as precisely as I can a conventional "Post and Notch" arrangement.
IF I had it to do over again, I think I might look for one of the 325 "SC" guns...finish is silver, AND it has a red-insert ramp front sight and white-outline rear notch of conventional configuration. Depends on whether the black finsh is a priority, I guess...I'll KEEP mine, and sometime down the road replace the sights...Oh, one OTHER thing...mine had a heavy but smooth DA trigger...I replaced the factory mainspring with a "Reduced Power" one from Wolff...MUCH BETTER, and NO MISFIRES so far...about 400 rounds...FWIW....mikey357

I bought one of the very 1st 325PD revolvers. I use it as my CCW. Mine had several thousand rounds through it, and it still looks and works like new.

I really like the gun. Easy to shoot and quite accurate.

The only thing I changed was to replace the V notch rear blade, with a standard square notch blade. My old eyes needed a little "air" around the front sight to see it more clearly.

Good Luck...

Joe
