"Abomination" is complete... BWAHAHAHA!!!

Well, I had this Saiga 12 shotgun, and it was sorely needing a conversion. I used the Tromix DIY screw in trigger guard and Tromix modified Tapco G2 trigger group. I also Duracoated it in combat green (leaving several spots of the original black for contrast). The optic is a 3rd generation button cell Kobra (won't have the problems the AA ones do on AKs).

As for the name, well, get yourself a copy of Monster Hunter International and all will be made clear.

Wow... I haven't really been a fan of Saiga's shotguns in the past but this one has changed my perspective a little. I really like that stock on there, the CAR stocks are just an eyesore on an AK or Saiga 12 IMO. I may have to add one of those to the collection one day.

Nice. Although you can't call it "Abomination" until you mount a grenade launcher underneath and a silver bayonet on the side. :D

And a bayonet and paint it brown with "a kind of desert tiger stripe type thing" (we won't quibble about a 12" barrel :D )

Still, a cool start.

Ive never understood the need for optics on a scattergun. They look cool, but...

It's called "I had it laying around and figured why not."

It had a couple of trigger reset issues at the skeet field yesterday- seems the spring slipped off a trigger leg and the disconnector wasn't releasing the hammer properly. I think I got it fixed, I'll give it a go later today.

you should put #7 1/2 brdshot in there. its the perfect home defense round

That's funny; I hope it was meant as a joke.

Nice lookin' blaster, I have to agree with the optic comment though, how do you get a proper cheek weld with the sight so high up?

With the optic, you don't. That sight is just too high up to get any kind of a cheek weld; it's a CQC optic anyway, and good weld isn't necessary for those (although more comfortable). I pull it off for the skeet range (like I said, I had it sitting around- I may eventually get a 7.62x39 AK and move it over).

I did discover that the stock on there won't work- too short and too small for a recoil pad, so I ordered up a Tromix stock and a stock adapter, so it looks like Abomination isn't quite done yet after all. If it ain't one thing, it's another...

that optic is perticularly high than most.
red dots are sweet you can watch the target while it,s moving
much better. but in the dark it,s hard to see past the sight with the light
and all i geuss thats why some guy,s also add a flash light, a bit
to much stuff for my taste but oh well. not a nall ninja.

Your photo is underexposed. Always increase your camera's exposure when photographing something in front of a white background. That is a basic rule of photography.

Here is your photo retouched, to bring out the detail in your gun:

yes, that was a joke...it was a heavily discussed item in another thread

It was just a quickie. I wasn't going to push it just for that.

I ended up swapping out the stock and making a couple alterations, so now it even looks different yet. Seems the moment I put a pic up of any gun, something gets changed.

saiga,s rock

these saiga,s are so fun to take apart and make better and in the process
you customize your gun to what you want clean and neet or rough
and redy.im building a sweet saiga 223 right now.and hope to soon
do a 20 guage saiga.the conversion i mean .Its pretty fun to take
a brand new gun and drill holes in it hammer and chisel, and then file
sand paper re paint with wood stove black paint it matches the
rusky paint pretty good.I went with some textured od green on the dust
ccover and some other parts.looks pretty good.
