Abandoning the DA/SA

I don't think I like crunchentickers anymore.

My SIG P229 used to be the easiest gun for ME to shoot. Not rubber trigger Glocks, not heavy/awkward 1911's.

Then, I bought myself a Kimber Custom Classic and practiced. Quick trigger reset combined with a short, crisp SA only trigger makes a mighty effective pistol. Double taps are a cinch. Also, I tried a friend's Glock with some custom trigger work. The trigger wasn't rubbery. I can shoot this just as well as my Kimber.

Now, I have two SIGs I don't shoot, a P229 and a German P226. I have no need for the first double action trigger. I love these pistols for what they are, extremely reliable, well engineered, ergonomically perfect, combat pistols. But, I don't want their DA first shot.

What do I do with myself? I am so ashamed.

What do I do with myself?
If you want I can email you the address for my FFL and you can just send them to me...I'll give them a good home :D

(ok, I'm lying...I'd probably sell them and buy a Kimber too...I'm so ashamed)

8200 rpm,

Actually, I find the unpredictable trigger of the Glock 26 as well as the ergonomic grip to aid in accuracy. I can shoot the G26 more accurately than anything else I own.
However, I am uncomfortable with the “cocked & UNLOCKED” Glock system. Would anyone carry a M1911 “cocked & UNLOCKED”?
For CCW, I find the “cocked & locked” of a M1911 less than optimum because it requires unlocking in a moment of extreme stress. I prefer an unlocked DA trigger over all the above for CCW.
I have tried them all and my preference for safety plus accuracy is the HK P7. The P7 is single action with a nice trigger. The P7 is instantly cocked, ready for SA fire, when you firmly grip it and instantly safe when you release it.

What do you do with yourself? Use the pistol you shoot best. Personally, I like the DA/SA and have not had any problems shooting my Ruger P95. I can usually count on my first shot being an inch or two lower than followups, but if I'm shooting center of mass that's still well in the ballpark.

I like the DA/SA w/decocker because I don't have to manipulate anything to shoot. The two trigger pulls don't bother me.
