A weird thing happened to me yesterday!

I am in the market for a 357SIG and a little .380 pocket pistol. So after going out for breakfast at a local greasy-spoon that just so happened to be on the same block as my local gun store … I decided to walk in and have a look.

Ok so here is the weird part, I have always been a fan of Sig, and really have never liked the feel of Glock. Also, I have never really been a fan of Taurus, but love Ruger.

I have shot the LCR and Keltecks – thought I was for sure going to pick up the LCR. I have shot both Glocks and Sig’s – thought for sure I was going to pick up the Sig 239 in 357SIG. Instead I found the Glock in 357 more comfortable than the Sig, and the Taurus TCP in .380 more comfortable (if you can call holding these little things comfortable) than the LCP!!

Eventually after holding seemingly every pistol in the poor store owners store (including some he had to get out of the safe), the proprietor finally asked me if I was ready to buy or put a down payment on either or both … I kind of just looked at him all dumb and all, sighed and stated as I walked out that I would be back next week.

How could my tastes have changed in the last year? It’s not like my hand has changed in the past year! I was/am baffled!

Any of you out there ever have a similar experience? I have to admit, as I sit here a day later typing this, I am still stunned! It’s odd.

Sometimes I buy something out thier like one time a Glock which I hate, sold it for more several days later. Had to have it that day!!!!!!!!!! Figure that out.

1. Somethings grab our attention in a picture but don't live up to the picture in real life.

2. Our tastes and motivations are in a continual state of change.

3. Decided it would be more fun to go to the nudie bar instead of the range.

You ever thought the brunette was "to die for" one week but thought the red head was hotter then next?

Me, too. ;)

Don't think any deeper than this.

You will know that your tastes have changed after you shoot them and still like them. A gun you like to handle but not so much shoot is just a ninja fashion accessory.

taste for a gun is the whole package. of course there will be negatives to every gun, I don't care if its the most expensive on the market. its all about picking and choosing what you prefer to have and not to have. so what if the one you "didn't" prefer ended up the one you like better. so be it. better to get it than to get the one you thought you liked because of "peer pressure?" i think? if that even exists in the gun world. maybe, maybe not
also- taste changes as you grow and change as well. i doubt I will ever get tired of my 45, but it can happen. you never really know. maybe ill pick up a .40(even though i hate them, and yes, i HATE shooting .40's) in a decade or 2. right now i just think they saturate too much of the options for models. Very popular, just not for me.
