desireable than one chambered in .357 Magnaluum and 38 es-spesheela?

It has a (apprx.) 2.75'' barrel. It is stainless steel, in excellent condition. And it's for sale at a local gun show. The dealer, while on the up & up, wants $700.

Question: Nine Millimeter, 9x19 parabellum, revolver, Ruger....uummmm? It is factory orginal, no modifications of any kind. So what say you?

Well, they're great guns, hard to find and what he's asking isn't out of line, but that's about all it's worth. Sounds like a good opportunity if you're looking for one, .357 versions are common by comparison.

If it already uses ammo you have, consider it!

Its' based on the well respect Security Six frame.
I have the .357 and would like obtain a 9mm.

It was primarily developed for oversea markets (& some domestic LEO usage, during the "wonder nines craze) and possible DOD use, prior to the M9 decision.

I have a blued one and enjoy it alot, feels and shoots great. Mine cost me about $600 with shipping and FFL fees.

I wouldn't pay that much for one, but I have no desire for a 9mm revolver. I would think of it more as a "collector gun" than a shooter.

IIRC, back in the day, Ruger developed them for the Israeli police agency, who having been trained in American police tactics, and wanted a revolver, like most American cops carried, but wanted to be able to use their huge stocks of 9mm ammo. TADA...a 9mm revolver was born.

Sounds high to me. I'd want one NIB for $700, preferably a 4 inch. The longer barrel seems less common. I looked for one before IDPA split the revolver divisions but could not find one. Just as well, it would not be competitive now.

The revolver you describe is an excellent one. I have a pair and Service Six in .357. For shooting I prefer the 9mm. The asking price is $200 to $250 too high.

This one cost me $575 a month or so back:
