Many years ago I had a leather cheeckpiece on my Musgrave RSA target rifle. It did not look too bad and was just an excellent sound isolator between the stock and one's cheeckbone.
Normal ear defenders do not provide this, and my initial observation was that for the first time I could hear the report in front at the muzzle instead of right in my head.
I have not seen one of these again since I sold the rifle. Does anyone have knowledge of this equipment? Seems to me that in the NEW South Africa we find it harder by the day to obtain tried and tested equipment in many spheres of life.
