"A Round In The Tube"?

I just got a new KelTec P-32.

With the P-32 factory set trigger pull, is it okay to carry in your pocket with a round in the barrel...both with and without a pocket holster (in my case a DeSantis Nemesis)?

Thanks for your opinions.

You should never carry anything in a pocket without a holster, but if I had to do so, I would feel better about doing it with the KelTec than many other pistols.

The Kel Tec's are pretty safe to carry with a round in the chamber, IMHO. If carried properly where there is nothing to snag the trigger and pull it through its cycle (in a holster or with the clip available), it is perfectly safe to carry with a round in the chamber. That is one of the main reasons to carry a DAO in the first place - they are less prone to ND's.

Agree with Lonegunman and 10CFR.

If you carry it with no round in chamber, gonna take either two hands or some contortions to make it ready to use.

If it is in a pocket holster or on a clip, will always be where you expect it to be when needed.....and always faced the same way. adrift in a pocket it can get turned around and awkward to draw quickly.

Respectfully, the trigger on the P-32 is a little over 5 pounds pull; you would have to be nuts to put that in your pocket without a holster. On of the most common accidental discharges is the Glock pistol and it's long 5.5 lbs. pull carried without a holster. I really think 10 lbs. is a more appropriate minimum trigger pull for an unholstered, unsafetied weapon. Your groin is not worth risking having a loose quarter in your pocket.
