The above mentioned report, not complimentary toward the concept of what are sometimes described as "smart guns" is available for reading on-line or as a free download. Go to www.nap.edu to download a PDF version.

Might prove interesting reading, useful too.

????? Where is the PDF?

It's sort of an exercise in indirection, I do not know why. Click on the link. In the search field, type user authorized handguns or owner authorized handguns. The go through some sillyness.

I did this last night, the download started, and then I got an error message about how Outlook Express or Internet Explorer, do not quite remember which, "could not complete download", no explaination as to why this was the case. Perhaps Microsoft was having cramps, AGAIN.

Seems as if something has been rewmoved, but I believe that you should now be able to download a longish PDF document. I did that earlier this evening, haven't had a chance to read through it yet, it seems to be 69 pages in length. Luck.

Looks as if that is what's available at this time. There was listed a toll free phone number, which you might try. I tried to download the PDF document last night, seems as if Microsoft was having "cramps". Is that anything new? What you mentioned is, I suspect, what I was able to download this evening. Haven't been able to read the thing yet, it seems to be 69 pages long. I cannot say whether or not something might have been pulled.
