A Question for the fans of the older S&Ws

I've gotten bitten by the smith bug, the picture shows what I've picked up in the last year and a half. My question is which one next, only one requirement, I prefer to stay with at least a 6" barrel.

Wonderful collection and a great photograph -- warms my heart like a family picture. ;)

The selection for your next "child" is easy: P&R'ed 27-2. In all seriousness, I suggest the 27-2, since it (the .357 magnum) is the real genesis of the N Frame.

Again, my sincere congratulations.

Obviously, you need a 6" Model 29. It'll blend in better than that 8 3/8" one, which you should then just send to me... ;)

A Model 1917. Only 5.5", but what's half an inch among friends.

You're also missing a Model 10 light barrel, or a Model 14 or 15.

A .38/44 Heavy Duty Pre-war.

A Model 27 or 28.

It's a pity that the K-22 Combat Masterpiece/Model 18 didn't come in a 6" barrel.

How bout a 23 and a 24 for the heavy frames.
And maby a .32 Hand Ejector I frame to make the Ks feel bigger.

Nice family so far.

in somewhat of an order

1917
M-27
M-28
M-10
Victory 38S&W
Victory 38SPL

That should do you for another six months :D

You guys make me feel like a kid in a candy store with all these choices. I think the one I will be on the look out for now will be another 29 or 27. By the way tamara the 29-3 in the photo is a 10 5/8 barrel. So many smith's so little money.

I missed a cherry 10 5/8er couple months ago.
Went so low I cried.
And I am a cheap ol fart and don't like long barrels.

Just a thought....have you considered a j-frame Stainless Chief's Special in .38?

Very nice group! I've got a 1956 vintage Model 10 .38 that looks and shoots like it did when "Gunsmoke" was on the air. I'm trying to get my brother to part with his Stainless 8 3/8" 686 and .38 Chief's snubbie.

"Go ahead...make my day."
