I have a kimber gold match. It shoots reliably, and accurately. I have installed a propoint 3 red dot on it, and can shoot less than 2" groups at 50 yards. I use this gun for shooting plates, and use 230 grain loads at about 600fps+- (139 pf). What I would like to know is will a compensated barrel really do me any good or will it be a waste of money. I have a friend with a kimber with a comp barrel, and I cant feel the difference with the same loads. If you think a comp is worthwhile, what kind do you recommend.

With the low velocity loads you are shooting, it probably wouldn't make a difference. You need velocity for the comp to work.
