A problem or not?

OK all you Ar 15 shooters!! I got another noobie question!!
When I take my Bushy .223 out to shoot, I have a blast!!!:D
Now for the serious stuff.
When I get home, there's a couple black streaks coming out from under the gas block on the barrel. Is that normal?
I know about the staggering of the gaps in the gas rings, and it functions fine. I just wondered if it was supposed to leak out from under the block where it's clamped to the barrel?

If it ain't, what can I do to fix it?

That's normal. Don't worry about it. It's pretty hard to contain 52,000 psi.:D As long as it keeps working your fine. Sometimes they don't get the gas block and gas port perfectly lined up.
 


Sounds like maybe they forgot to put the piston in the gas system.

It'll probably work for a while, but the action will get awfully dirty.....

Now tINY, ya got me worried again. I never had one of these rifles and don't know all the parts yet. Fact is I didn't think Bushys had a piston until the new ones that just came out this year?:confused:
I know SKS's have one.But the AR I thought was a blowback driven rifle?
It has the part with the gas rings on it. Is that what you mean?
This rifle is a year old as of April.
It shoots fine and the action don't get dirty.
Tell me you're pulling my leg?:eek:
Or tell me where the piston is if it's supposed to have one.:confused:

The AR15 is a direct gas impingment design and does not have a gas piston. One common complaint with this is that the inside of the receiver gets a lot dirtier than with a piston design.

Sorry to confuse you with my joke.

The leak will lessen over time as crud builds up in the gas tube.

I was wondering because I've had this rifle in a bunch of pieces and never seen a piston.
I would like to see how the new Bushys with the piston perform though!
